- The full invention cycle — discover, design, build, test
- A mentor for every team
- A public showcase day
Our flagship programme
The Invention Studio is where young inventors do the real thing. Over a year-round cohort, students work in small teams through a complete invention cycle — discover a problem worth solving, design a response, build a working prototype, and test it with real users — all guided by the WISE framework.
This isn’t a series of one-off activities. It’s a sustained journey where students take ownership of a project, hit setbacks, iterate, and ship something they’re proud of.
What students take away
- A real prototype they designed and built from scratch.
- Maker fluency across code, electronics, fabrication and nature-based design.
- The habits of an inventor — curiosity, resilience, collaboration and care.
Mentorship that matters
Every team is paired with a GUILD mentor who guides without taking over. Students learn to make decisions, manage their own project, and present with confidence — culminating in a public showcase day where they pitch their inventions to family, peers and partners.
Built on WISE
The Invention Studio lives the full WISE framework: wellbeing as the foundation for sustained creative work, inclusion in every team, sustainability as a design constraint, and entrepreneurship as students carry an idea all the way to a working, presentable invention.
